Steps Ventures LLC (“Steps Ventures”, “we”, “us”) is a United States limited liability company. We are the controller of any personal data we collect through this website and through correspondence.

When you visit the site. Our hosting provider records standard server logs containing IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, referrer, and a timestamp. These logs are used to operate, secure, and debug the site.

When you contact us. If you email info@stepsventures.com or any other Steps Ventures address, we receive whatever you choose to send: your name, email address, organisation, and the contents of your message.

Cookies. The home page sets no cookies. Subpages that link out to third-party platforms (for example, Cloud Run apps) may set their own cookies governed by those platforms’ own privacy notices.

Analytics. We do not run third-party analytics on the home page. If we add analytics in the future, this notice will be updated and the lawful basis disclosed.

We process server-log data on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We process correspondence on the basis of legitimate interests in responding to your inquiry, or to take steps prior to entering into a contract at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Server logs are retained for up to 90 days by our hosting provider unless a longer period is needed to investigate a security incident. Correspondence is retained for as long as a working relationship is active, plus a reasonable period afterwards (typically up to 7 years for tax and record-keeping purposes), after which it is deleted or anonymised.

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers acting on our behalf (for example, our hosting and email providers) under contractual confidentiality obligations, or where we are required to do so by law.

Steps Ventures is based in the United States. If you contact us from the EU, EEA, or UK, your personal data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards offered by our service providers, including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where applicable.

If GDPR or UK GDPR applies to your data, you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• request erasure of your data;
• restrict or object to processing;
• portability of data you have provided;
• withdraw consent at any time, where processing relies on consent.

The site is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

We may update this notice from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
